*WHAT ABOUT THE HOMOSEXUALS?*

A few days ago, I invoked more 2000 reactions, 97% of which are rages from people who felt I was supporting gays, after I stated that I have issues with 14 years imprisonment meted out to Gays in Nigeria. This prompted me to bring out this post again.
I wrote it July, 2015, a few days after USA legalized Gay marriage, but it seem people did not get it. The outrage against me recently proves true.

On the 26th of June 2015, USA legalized gay marriage and the moralists raised eyebrows, they considered it an eyesore and the greatest sin against God.
A lot of people feel once such thing happen; God would destroy such nation like he did to Sodom and Gomorrah.

I wondered how and where they got their facts from, but regardless of where they got their facts, it is a testimony that they do not truly recognize the God as they ought to.
This means people; especially the Christians are made to believe that it was because of homosexuality that God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. Such fallacy is not godly.

I'm not writing in support of homosexuality or the legalization of their marriage, No!
I'm just against hypocrisy in the name of religion and morality.
We quote scriptures that we don't understand and most times we think we can defend God, when we don't make attempt to even know him; what he want and what he doesn't.

Prior to USA legalizing Gay Marriage, Japan and other European countries have legalized Adultery and the moralists made not so much noise about it as they did with homosexuality, probably because they considered it natural or a part of culture.
Most African countries would not have gone against legalizing such, since it align with their culture and justifies their ways of life, but the same set of people, who are guilty of adultery condemns homosexuality and think they are holy to God, while the homosexuals are the sinners and must be condemned.

Contrary to the belief that homosexuality is God's most hated sin and that it was the reason why he destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, because they are exceedingly sinful, not because they are homosexuals:
_"But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the Lord exceedingly." (Genesis 13:13 KJV)_
Homosexuality is just one of the activities that the people of Sodom and Gomorrah are involved in. Turning away from God was their major sin.

God needed righteous people, but couldn't find except Abraham's family, thus they were destroyed.
It is not recorded in any portion of the Bible that God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of homosexuality.
_"Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire." (Jude 1:7 KJV)_
Thus homosexuality is not ‘Sodomy’ as it is popularly referred to, it has been in practice before the time of Sodom and Gomorrah.

_Why are people so concerned about the law being passed if it doesn't affect them?_

_Does it mean gays go around raping people?_

_How does someone's sexual orientation affect me, when I'm not forced to do the same or raped by them?_

_The law does not permit them to force their acts on straight lovers or even fellow homosexuals, so what’s the stress all about?_

The constitutions of these countries were not written according to the Bible or Quran and if they are, they are biased, if they practice more than those two religions in such countries.

_So why do we think they are wrong for them to protect people, who are prejudiced against?_

_Why should we be angry that the government of a country decided to protect the oppressed the best way they can, since people make them feel less human, when we should show them love?_

The government, which is ought to be a secular institution has done nothing wrong to give her citizens right to make their choices if they don’t hurt the other person or abuse others’ fundamental rights.
The government has just decided to respect their freewill; a thing God himself have been doing and would have done, even though he might not like the idea.

These moralists, that tries to force their ideas of rightness on people and penalize them for not abiding, either lacks understanding of how God operates or don’t know him at all.
Even though God gave the sense of right and wrong, he does not break people’s will to do what he feel is right, not even when it comes to believing in his son, Jesus Christ.

_Ask yourself, what has someone’s choice of being homosexual got to do with you?_

_Does it make God not answer your prayer or would God punish you for what you consider their sins?_

_Or you are just trying to defend a God you do not know?_

_Did you think God could not have stopped them at thought level?_

_Why did he leave them and refuse to penalize them even as they increase by the day?_

Let's be realistic here! The unreasonable moralists, who probably have no idea who God is, forced the USA government to pass the bill into law, because they prejudice against the gays and gave the government no other option than to protect them.
Look, it is the duty of any country to protect her citizens and since homosexuals are one of these citizens, they have to be protected too.

While it is very wrong and also abuse of human right for US government to want to arrest any pastor that refuses to join Homosexual Couples, the blames goes to people, who should have shown them love and help them to get over their perceived mental disorder and evil possession if they consider it one, but instead treat them with disdain, tell them to rot in hell and now the government is performing her duty and they get too religious about it and moralistic about it. That’s hypocrisy.

Let us face the truth!
Many people only condemned legalization of Gay Marriage because it is not their culture, not because they are particularly Godly or interested in the things of God.

_What happens to perceived obnoxious acts such as adultery, fornication, incest, pornography and prostitution that has now become a common business among young folks, who now consider it "hustling" does God love those ones?_

_Where are these moralists, when prostitution was legalized in some countries, even though it is also not a crime?_

_Does their religion not go against it too?_

_Or it is because God patronizes the prostitutes that he decided not to destroy them?_

Let us be reasonable in our judgments.
The best way to stop the law from been passed in your country is to love everybody, including homosexuals the best way we can.

So if you think you are doing the right thing and being Godly to hate homosexuals, then you are deceiving yourself, you do not know God or act according to his will.

_Are homosexuals not one of the people considered to be your brothers (fellow humans)?_

_If your brother or sister is homosexual, would you want them to be sent to jail or killed?_

Your fear could be that many people will turn to the practice, but it is not possible. Persons like me can never be gay and we have many like that, who will never attempt it, so nothing to worry about. Just live by your choices and let them live by theirs too.

In this part of the world, it is highly difficult for a gay to confide in any straight religious leader about their feelings in a bid to seek help, probably because they will treat them like outcasts and most likely hand them over to the police.

_Will Jesus do that?_

You can hate homosexuality, but not homosexuals and always try to show them love, before your Government does it for you, as it was done in the USA.

If you hate homosexuals and you think their sexual orientation will take them to hell, I’m sorry to disappoint you, you are wrong!
You would have been saved not to go to hell yourself, provided you accepted Jesus Christ into your life by believing he is the son of God, who died for your sins, but if not, it will surprise you that you will end up in hell with all your religious activities and those gays you think will rot in hell will be with God in heaven.

This does it mean homosexuality takes people to kingdom of God? No!
It simply means regardless of your religious activities and their own choice, the only prerequisite for making heaven is to believe in Jesus Christ as one’s lord and saviour.
It could be argued that there are other requirements, but that’s the first and major thing to do.
So if you don’t believe in Jesus Christ and you condemn gays, be sure that even if they are going to hell for their choices, you will lead them there.
